About Eddie Windham
Husband.
Parent.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
Studied at McNeese State University and Louisiana State University.
Worked at Volunteers of America, St. Patrick's Hospital, Boys & Girls' Villages, Moss Regional Hospital.
In Private Practice since 2004.
I am known in my community as a man with strong Christian convictions, and do not attempt to hide my faith. I do not do Christian counseling (using Bible study during sessions). I am a counselor who Christians will feel comfortable with, and that will understand diverse Christian beliefs.
I have experience dealing with a broad range of issues.
*ADDICTIONS: I offer discreet and effective treatment of sexual addiction and other addictions, working both with the addict and their spouse or partner. I treat internet, gaming and other addictions using many of the same techniques I use with sexual addiction. Treatment is done in both individual and couples sessions. I offer several ways of treating addicts with initial intensive out-patient treatment including weekly or bi-weekly appointments, daily appointments for three weeks, or a three day intensive treatment.
*COUPLE'S THERAPY: I enjoy helping couples work through the many issues that can arise in relationships. I help them learn communication, problem solving, and other relationship skills.
*DEPRESSION/ANXIETY/PHOBIAS/OCD: I also have experience working with depression, anxiety and phobias, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
*TRAUMA: I enjoy helping trauma victims by using EMDR.
*GRIEF COUNSELING: I help people work through the grief process using Talk Therapy and Art Therapy Techniques.
*KIDS' COUNSELING: I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Art Therapy, and teach them skills for a variety of situations.
*DOMESTIC VIOLENCE/ANGER MANAGEMENT: I facilitate the Domestic Violence Offender Program and work with non-domestic anger management issues. Common methods of treatment are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Psychoeducation.
